I was wondering if there was any way to edit a couple things with this program.

1. Make a default directory where the converted files can be converted.
2. Change the name of the converted folder (Instead of "XXXXX-ITGREADY")
3. Stop the program from removing graphics
4. Add a DWI to SM converter (http://files.filefront.com/DWItoSMexe/; ... einfo.html)

Thanks for any help that you may be able to do with this information.

A multiple-file batch converter would be awsome also, albeit it would make for a very long wait if you did, say a whole song pack in one go.

Actually, that DWItoSM converter pops up a message box for EVERY file it converts, whether its for failure or success. That sucks for batch jobs. It should have used the console.

Who wrote it? Do you know? Maybe I can get a hold of the source.


Also - You can convert multiple simfiles by just selecting all of the song folders in explorer and right click->make simfiles ITGReady. There's already features built in to only queue and convert in batches of five at a time so your computer doesn't die.

That's pretty much all the information I can give you. Hopefully you will be able to talk to the guy. Do you have any information on how to work with the other issues I presented?

The destination of the converted simfile (same path with a -ITGREADY extension on the folder name) is hard coded. So that can't be changed unless you hack the bat files.

Run the VB tool included in the project "sm2itg-RUN ME.exe" to run a GUI that will let you specify additional options - including not removing the banner graphics.

And the dwi to sm converter will come eventually.

I'm thinking of rewriting this entirely in VB.NET. Batch has some nice features, but I can probably make this more powerful if I wrote it in a real programming language. So maybe the next version will be a rewrite.

Oh, alright. I can't run the GUI thing though. Whenever I run the file "sm2itg-RUN ME" it gives me an error saying "Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." This program worked fine on my other computer, so the only variable that I can think of is that I'm using vista now. Would that have anything to do with this problem?

Okay, maybe I'll take it off and put it back on again. Hopefully that should make it work.

Edit: It was vista's UAC. So it works when I turn it off. No problems there.

Just for you. It's done now. Handles DWI files. It will still remove banner graphics. You'll have to wait for the rewrite for that

Thanks for this. You haven't found a way for your program to actually implement the converter though, have you? Because when I try to convert a dwi file folder with the GUI it says its not a correct folder because it doesn't have a .sm file.

the ogg length patcher doesn't work on r23 I presume?

It patches the song but R23 has something that makes the song only playable for 2:00
and then cuts it off..
which is rediculous seeming as though all machines in Edmonton are R23 except for Gateway bowling lanes which is R2
